Thank you to every person and firm who participated in our 2026 Design Awards program. The jurors, your colleagues in architecture and design, and the public agree the program was a remarkable showcase of design in our region. There was such a positive response to all submissions featured in our second-annual Design Awards Exhibition at Bay Street Theater, as well as the Celebration and exhibition itself.  The complete list of Award recipients is below.

A highlight for me was Community Award recipient Michael Daly’s remarks

On the topic of community housing, he stated:

“We live in an extraordinary bioregion: the Peconic Bay Region. For generations, this community has understood the need to protect wildlife habitat, farmland, wetlands, shorelines, and open space. We have learned that once a habitat is lost, it is hard to bring it back. I believe we must now bring that same urgency, care, and moral imagination to human habitat. I’m sure many of us in this room, know someone who has left, or is struggling to stay, here on the East End due their challenges with finding, or keeping secure housing.”

Thank you, Michael, for your commitment to the community and for inspiring us towards action.

This Saturday, the Emerging Professionals Committee is hosting a Color Walk in Sag Harbor. Scroll down for details.
