Thank you to everyone who has registered to participate in the 2025 Design Awards.  As a friendly reminder, the deadline to submit your projects is today.  Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions.  Personally, I look forward to celebrating your work at our exhibit and Design Awards Celebration in April.  Please save the date for Thursday, April 24!

In the meantime, we have a good deal of offerings to highlight.  Next month, we are hosting a CEU presentation on historical preservation at the Nathaniel Rogers House of the Bridgehampton Museum and we are screening “City Dreamers” at the Southampton Arts Center. Registration is open for both events.  At this time, we are also conducting an open call for applicants to our scholarship program.   Scroll down for more info.

The 2025 Member Directory is in the works.  All AIA Peconic Members and Allied Members will be listed with their firm/company name, email address, and phone number.  For AIA Members, the information in your National AIA profile is what will be printed.  If you would like to edit what is printed, please email admin@aiapeconic.org with the correct information by March 5.

City Dreamers is a film about our changing urban environment and four trailblazing women architects who have been working, observing, and thinking about the transformations shaping the cities of today and tomorrow for over 70 years. The film is inspired by what has united these four women throughout their careers: the “dream” of a fundamentally human and inclusive city. Phyllis Lambert, Blanche Lemco van Ginkel, Cornelia Hahn Oberlander, Denise Scott brown – four trailblazers who became accustomed to being the only woman in the room. Each has an extensive list of accomplishments in architecture, planning, and landscape architecture dating back 60+ years and has taught, mentored, and inspired generations of professionals. Since the 1950’s, they have worked with and collaborated with some of the leading figures in architecture.

The evening will feature local AIA architects reflecting on the film and its themes. The panel will be moderated by Julie Hatfield, President of Wright & Company Construction, who is a pioneer as a female leader at one of the foremost residential construction companies in the U.S.
