As a youngster growing up in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn and attending the prestigious LaGuardia High School of Music & Art, Felix Burgos continued his artistic education from Fashion Institute of Technology and The School of Visual Arts. A 30-year career as an award-winning Art Director in the advertising industry followed before Felix slowly began directing his creativity away from the commercial world and into the fine art world. Despite a demanding career, Felix devotes weekends and nights, exploring and evolving his artistic style. He considers himself an abstract expressionist, and interprets everyday scenes using sharp angles and colors that are startling in their simplicity, yet filled with context and depth. He credits his background as an art director working with shapes and blocks of color, and adds touches of humanity to complete his stories.

Missed our Urbanesque II exhibition? Visit Felix Burgos and see his works at The Other Art Fair in Brooklyn November 4-7 at Brooklyn Expo Center.
