A LETTER FROM OUR EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

At Bay Street Theater, we believe everyone deserves access to the arts. And I do mean everyone.

Why?

Because even in the darkest of times, it is our very own stories that help inspire, challenge, and connect us all, in a way that nothing else can. Theater can transport us into a different world, or even simply into our neighbors’ shoes, where empathy and understanding can take hold.

And while it’s a leap of faith to help ‘support’ or ‘invest’ in this work, I can tell you this–it’s your investment that allows our work to be transformational.

How?

You’ve made it possible for over 48,000 students to see live theater for free. Take that in for a minute. FORTY-EIGHT THOUSAND lives potentially changed because of YOU. Now, doesn’t that feel good?

Through Bay Street’s Literature Live! program and your help, thousands of students will once again witness the power of great stories brought to life on stage. And this fall’s production of Fahrenheit 451 will be no different. It will be another shared experience about freedom, imagination, and the courage to think for oneself.

I’m asking you once again for your investment–no matter how small or large. We are currently trying to raise much needed funds for this program. Your support creates the access we all want to provide. And it also allows us to sustain partnerships with more than 35 other local nonprofits. Together we can ensure that Bay Street remains a stage for the entire community.
