PROPOSITION #4

————————————

Tuesday, May 20 | 2:00-8:00pm

Bridgehampton School Gym

2685 Montauk Highway, Bridgehampton

Help us preserve and share Bridgehampton’s rich history by voting YES on Proposition #4 on May 20!

What is Proposition #4?

It authorizes the appropriation of $125,000 annually from the Bridgehampton School District budget to support the Bridgehampton Museum for the 2025–2026 school year and beyond.

This request represents just 0.63% of the school budget, yet it makes a tremendous impact by allowing us to:

  • Maintain and preserve our historic buildings and archives
  • Offer free programs and school tours
  • Host exhibitions and cultural events throughout the year

Important Note:

Proposition #4 is a separate vote from the overall school budget.

You may vote YES on Proposition #4 and NO on the school budget—or vice versa. Your vote on this proposition is independent.

Can’t vote in person?

Request an absentee ballot application by May 13 from the Superintendent’s Office, 2685 Montauk Highway, BH.

For more information, contact Tammy A. Cavanaugh, District Clerk/Assistant to the Superintendent:

A YES vote supports your local museum—and keeps Bridgehampton’s history alive for future generations.

Thank you for your support!

Clay is a material rich in history and possibilities for art making, and handbuilding pottery is the oldest use of the medium. Once you have experienced a few basic techniques, you can make your own functional tableware, vessels, tiles, and sculptures. All materials are included in the ticket price as well as two pounds of clay and the firing of your first project.

Teacher Bio

Hilary began her interest in clay at a young age, although their formal studies are in art history, printmaking and painting. They studied painting in New York City first at the School of Visual Arts, and then graduate studies at Hunter College. In 1995, after living and exhibiting in NYC for 12 years, they moved out to eastern Long Island and have lived here ever since. In addition to maintaining their studio work, they worked as an art teacher in grades K – 8. It was teaching children that brought them back to working with clay. Her work started out small and now she is looking into ways of creating larger outdoor pieces.
