Weather permitting, EHTPS conducts weekly Tuesday morning maintenance hikes, preparing for other hikes on our schedule and keeping as much trail as possible clear and blazed. No experience necessary, and new volunteers are always welcome. Bring a lopper, trimmer, or handsaw if available. Duration: App. 2 hours. Wednesday April 8, 2026, at 10 AM. Georgica, East Hampton (3 miles)
The as good as it gets series returns! We’ll visit the Fulling Mill Farm Preserve at Briar Patch, the historic Apaquogue, the shore of Georgica Cove, the actual Lily Pond on Lily Pond Lane, and yes, the Atlantic Ocean. Saturday April 11, 2026, at 10 AM. Town and Country, Amagansett (5.5 miles)
Starting on Amagansett’s historic Main Street, our hike will leave charming Amagansett village and traverse upcountry woodlands and farm fields in the early springtime. This route follows local roads to the access point for Stony Hill’s Forest, then tracks parts of the Paumanok Path, Archery Trail and Springs to Amagansett Trail. Skirting the impressive Baker Kettlehole, we will pass through Amagansett’s farmlands before returning to the starting point. All are welcome to relish Amagansett’s beautiful beechwood forest and broad fields and appreciate a variety of avian and terrestrial fauna. Duration: App. 2.5 hours. Meet 10 AM in the parking lot behind the Amagansett Free Library.

Saturday April 18, 2026, at 10 AM. North Neck Trail, Montauk (3 miles)
Join us for an out & back hike on the North Neck Trail, one of Montauk’s newest trails. We’ll go past Tupelo Stone and the enormous North Neck Oak on this lovely route. Meet at the Culloden Point historic marker, west side of Flamingo Avenue, Montauk, about 400 feet north of Wills Point Road. (Look for a red fire hydrant.) For those who are up for it, at the end of the main hike we may continue into the Culloden Point Preserve on the west side of Flamingo Avenue for an additional (and optional) 2-1/2 miles or so leading to the bay. Saturday April 25, 2026, at 10 AM. Rod’s Valley, Montauk (2.5 +- miles)
Join us for a relaxed-pace hilly hike that is mostly on the Paumanok Path and takes us to places typically only seen on much longer hikes. You will see Fort Pond Bay, and hike Riah’s Ridge and the Lost Boulder Trail. You’ll be asked whether you can locate the boulder! Sunday April 26, 2026, at 10 AM. Central Park, New York City (3 miles)
We will explore the highlights and hidden gems of the northern end of Central Park. Starting from Central Park West at 103rd Street, we will visit The Pool, follow the Loch through the Glen Span Arch, visit the marvelous Huddlestone Arch, and then walk north through the thickly forested Ravine, stopping by the Blockhouse, the oldest structure in the park. From there we will walk around the recently restored Harlem Meer, then south to the Conservatory Garden on Fifth Avenue, before returning to our starting point. Magnolias, tulips, daffodils and azaleas should be in bloom.
