Students will draw or paint from life. Learn new mediums, oil painting, oil pastels, acrylic painting, watercolor painting, charcoal, graphite or markers etc.

Through the process they will learn essential knowledge & skills, such as; drawing, using simple shapes; Drawing from life reference artist Paul Cezanne; Using light- tints and shades; 2D design; Drawing and Painting.
Students will create a still life painting or drawing in the post-impressionistic style of Cezanne.

Paul Cezanne believed that everything in the world was made up of either a sphere, a cone, a cylinder or a cube. He would even move around the still life to get different perspectives while he painted the still life.

Fashion Illustration Workshop
with Amy Worth

Explore the basics of body proportion as it relates to the fashion figure.

This one-day online workshop is suitable for all levels. Students will learn about line and value in the creation of a croquis or fashion sketch.
——
Dress your figure, and color your garments to illustrate your own unique design ideas. The instructor, Amy Worth, worked as a textile artist for over twenty-five years. Her designs, in fabric and wallpaper, are part of the product lines of Ralph Lauren, Paloma Picasso, Calvin Klein and many others.

Worth also taught Fashion Design & Illustration, a program she created, at Huntington High School for twelve years. She owns and operates The South Street Gallery in Greenport with her husband Tom Payne.

EEA STEAM weekly workshop is a program that is a collaboration between EEA and the LI Science Center in Riverhead. Our curriculum will be a one-hour program based on a famous artwork; such as; Van Gogh’s Starry Night or Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa. Students and Instructors discuss the painting and students receive a brief art history lesson. Instructors connect specific art works with a science topic. The class closes with a combined art and science project which relates to both the artist’s style and connects to the science topic. This one-hour jam packed fun with education is a weekly-workshop you won’t want your child to miss!

Seeing Mindfully Portrait and Figurative Drawing Workshop

EEA Rocks
Band Performance Program

Are you ready to ROCK?
——
Students are required to be proficient at an intermediate to advanced level in an instrument of choice: vocals, guitar, bass, drums or keys (other instruments are also welcome); in order to participate.
——
The group works together as a band. Students learn the basics: setting up your equipment, understanding a PA system, working a mic, harmonizing vocally, learning to play with other band members, learning to take solos; as well as the introduction to new genres of music.
——
The bands are directed by Nicholas Bavaro (drums) and John Tocco (guitar/bass). Both instructors not only have rock band performance experience, but also have theater and classical experience. Rehearsals are one and a half hours and held once per week for 15 sessions.
——
Students work on mastering skills such as; playing together as a band, timing, and most importantly, performance and stage presence.
——
At the conclusion of each session, students will perform to exhibit growth of each student.

Drawing and Painting Nature’s Little Gems

Join Monica Ray for a series of five,
3-hour studio workshops in which each time students draw and paint a different subject. Students choose to use graphite or colored pencils, or permanent fine liners. We will use these tools either separately or in combination.

Drawing each object comes with its own challenges and the right approach to faithfully render a chosen subject will be taught, as well as different techniques, such as resist, embossing, and the use of (non-toxic) solvents.
——
To get into the Holiday spirit we will aim for a spot illustration that can be used as an image for reproduction to print greeting cards, gift tags, labels, etc., or created to stand on its own and given as an original present.
——
Students can sign-up for the entire series or sign-up per workshop.

If you have always desired to try drawing people, this is the perfect class to get your feet wet!

Students explore all aspects of value, pose, and perspective surrounding rendering a successful figure drawing or portrait and become familiar with the anatomy of the figure and the head as well as the various techniques involved in rendering them realistically.

Capturing a likeness while creating a dramatic drawing will be addressed.
——
Students will experience the excitement of trying to complete a ‘quick sketch’ of the head and figure in 3, 5, and 10 minute sessions.

The instructor will demonstrate the various methods of rendering the head and figure and furnish all participants with educational handouts.

Students work from a model or when not available, photos will be utilized. Bring your sketchbooks and give portraiture and the figure a try!! Marlene guarantees an enlightening and pleasurable excursion!
