EEA HAPPENINGS:

DECEMBER 2023

THOUSANDS OF REASONS TO GIVE

East End Arts reached approximately 45,000 people in 2023, through our work and connection in the communities we serve. Here are a few ways EEA Unlocked Creativity and Built Community in 2023:

Exhibition-

  • EEA hosted 5 major art exhibitions across our two Arts District galleries on Main St., Riverhead and featured 176 artists of all mediums.
  • The six rotating satellite galleries in public spaces across the North and South Forks featured solo and duo exhibits for 21 EEA Members.
  • Since relaunching in August, the EEA Recording Studio logged over 300 hours of recoding time, including 3 signature podcasts, music for 3 indie artists, voiceover work for a healthcare commercial, and music production for MSNBC, Warner Chapel Music, and Wells Fargo.

Education-

  • EEA employed 41 teachers who shared their expertise in private and group art, music, and performance instruction.
  • Thirty-six children and young adults received scholarships for art and music enrichment.
  • EEA introduced two new programs- The All Abilities Performance Program, in partnership with East End Disabilities Association, encompasses a theater program for winter and drum circle for summer. The 2Rs4Fun Creative Writing Program, in partnership with the Southampton Youth Bureau, provides mentorship by a dozen EEA volunteers for 10 3rd and 4th graders of Phillips Avenue Elementary.

Extensio-

  • EEA connected with 23 individual local nonprofits to serve the community beyond Riverhead and our membership. Through these collaborations, we created both short- and long-term programming, donated artwork, provided memberships, volunteered time, and supported events.
  • Over 150 artist squares, created by both professionals and families from across Long Island, filled Main St. at the 27th annual Mosaic Street Painting Festival. The event also featured 51 local artisans and food vendors, 9 local performers, and 45 pieces of Member art.
  • The 21st annual Teeny Awards ceremony celebrated over 350 extraordinary teenaged performers and tech crew from 22 local high schools, and the 3rd annual MLK Portrait Project featured mosaic artwork created by 191 art students from 16 local high schools.
