STEAM is a weekly workshop that is a collaboration between EEA and the LI Science Center in Riverhead. Our curriculum will be a one hour program, both in-person and online via Zoom, based on a famous artwork, for example, Van Gogh’s Stary Night, where we will discuss the painting, and the students will get a brief art history lesson on the artist. Then we will connect the art work with a science topic, for example the Universe. We will close the class with a combined art and science project which will relate to both the artists style and connect to the science topic. It will be one hour of jam packed fun and a little education. All materials are included in the price.
—–
This will go for 15 sessions, and you will be able to pick individual sessions, or purchase the bundle for a discount. We will promote a new topic each week. Both EEA and LISC members are eligible for member pricing. We will also offer the class via Zoom.

Students will experience the excitement of trying to complete a “quick sketch” of the head and figure in 3,5 and 10 minute sessions. The instructor will demonstrate the various methods of rendering the head and figure and will furnish all participants with educational handouts. We will be working from a model or when not available, photos will be utilized. So bring your sketchbooks and give portraiture and the figure a try!!
