Karaoke Dreaming
This Talent Show will feature songs from songs from your favorite R&B artist!
Showcase your talent in a virtual talent show with East End Arts School. Your talent can be singing, dancing, gymnastics, or instrumental. There are no registration or participation fees. You must complete the registration form by clicking on the link below. Please be sure to submit the email address you would like to use for your performance via zoom.
Please login to zoom & join at the start of the show so you do not disturb those in the middle of their performances. Download the zoom app for free upon submission of your registration if you do not already have it. You will receive an e-mail with direct link to the “Virtual Talent Show Performance” with a meeting ID.
Guidelines:
  • All Performances must be about 2 Minutes in length.
  • Your song choice must be related to: Our theme – R&B
  • Parent approval must be given for all song choices.
  • You must log on at the start time or you will not be permitted to perform. (Only exception is connection issue. In this instance you must email host, join muted, and you will be placed at the end of the show.)
  • You must attend the entire R&B Talent Show to support others.
  • Please, please make sure your music is audible – this will only help your performance.
  • All registrations must be in by Wednesday, 10:00AM, February 17, 2020.
We encourage all members and students of East End Arts (including Music Masters & Teeny Awards) to register early, we will only be accepting 20 participants.
Participants do not need to be a student of EEA, this program is open to everyone. If you miss the cut-off you will be placed on the waiting list for the next show on March 4, 2020.

Meet the Masters
with Kenneth Jackson
This program is FREE for EEA members and only $10 for Non-members!
Students learn about the lives of artists and how they have contributed to the art world; as well as create a wonderful artwork to take home.
Students are welcome to bring their own supplies, or pay a small fee of $5.00 (payable in cash at the beginning of class) if you wish to utilize EEA’s art supplies for the class.
EEA will post the artist each week. A material list will be supplied at registration.

EEA Talks Podcasts
with Cindy Clifford
We are happy to announce our podcast at EEA, EEA talks. The interviewer, Cindy Clifford, is a professional voiceover artist, past co-host of the WALK Breakfast Club (where she interviewed dozens of famous musicians like Billy Joel and Michael Buble) and current host of the “It’s Me, Cindy” podcast (which also features plenty of fascinating interviews). Cindy is also a producer/performer of productions like Apron Strings Project, East End Fringe Festival and the annual “It’s a Wonderful Life; A Live Radio Play.”
A new podcast will be added every first and third Tuesday of each month.

EEA Rocks Performance Program – SPRING
Directed by Nicholas Bavaro and John Tocco
Students are required to be proficient at an intermediate to advanced level in an instrument of choice: vocals, guitar, bass, drums or keys (other instruments are also welcome); in order to participate.
The group works together as a band. Students learn the basics: setting up your equipment, understanding a PA system, working a mic, harmonizing vocally, learning to play with other band members, learning to take solos; as well as the introduction to new genres of music.
The bands are directed by Nicholas Bavaro (drums) and John Tocco (guitar/bass). Both instructors not only have rock band performance experience, but also have theater and classical experience. Rehearsals are one and a half hours and held once per week for 15 sessions.
Students work on mastering skills such as; playing together as a band, timing, and most importantly, performance and stage presence.
At the conclusion of each session, students will perform to exhibit growth of each student.

STEAM – Single Class
with Judy Isbitiren LISC & Kathleen Ruscick
EEA STEAM weekly workshop is a program that is a collaboration between EEA and the LI Science Center in Riverhead. Our curriculum will be a one-hour program based on a famous artwork; such as; Van Gogh’s Starry Night or Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa. Students and Instructors discuss the painting and students receive a brief art history lesson. Instructors connect specific art works with a science topic. The class closes with a combined art and science project which relates to both the artist’s style and connects to the science topic. This one-hour jam packed fun with education is a weekly-workshop you won’t want your child to miss!
All materials are included.
Each session promotes a new topic.
EEA and LISC members are eligible for member pricing.

Principles of Art
On Zoom with Gary Long
Seeing mindfully is a series of drawing protocols that trains our eyes to draw what our mind actually sees. When we focus our attention using this method, we become aware of the true structure of our subjects. Join Gary Long on this journey and let him help you master the principles of art.
Gary teaches on the Zoom platform with a live webcam feed. He guides you through a live tutorial while drawing and painting at his easel. You will interact through this live feed in real time. Ice will give you constructive critiques in real time using his surface pro stylus and his drawing and painting software program called, “Sketchbook Pro”. This is all virtual and you will be given a list of supplies to get started, there are no software requirements, everything is over Zoom.

The Ultimate Studio
Painting Class
with Kennth Jackson
This unique painting class delves into oils, acrylics, gouache, and pastels. Each week students concentrate on a different style, paint medium, and subject matter; mastering a portrait, then a figure, then still life, then abstract and maybe a landscape too. This class is built for all levels and works as a true studio class. Each person works to improve their skills and walk away with a sense of accomplishment and determination to push themselves even further in their art journey. Students will walk away from each session with a fantastic piece of art!
Please bring your own supplies, canvas, paints, paper, etc. Easels, brushes, and other basic supplies will be provided. If you wish to utilize EEA’s supplies, you will be charged $5.00 per class.

After School Art with Melissa

Melissa has been teaching art for 22 years in the Riverhead school district and now shares her expertise with the students of East End Arts.
Melissa brings experience and creativity to this after school art class. Children will work on multi media projects, concentrating on one project per class.
Melissa introduces the students to artists and their medium, and encourages them to create their own masterpieces.
Creativity involves critical thinking, planning, and focusing your attention. Children learn through this process as different parts of the brain jump into action. They might discover something they never knew before, learn how to solve a problem, or figure out a new way to look at or do something.

Various Topics for Oil Painting

Learn to work with oils without fear. Laura walks you through different painting processes to help you gain the freedom to create your own artwork. During this class you will increase your knowledge and comfort of painting with oils. For many, painting is a way to escape from reality from a brief point in time that helps us heal and take a break.

Unexpected Discoveries

Summer Camp at EEA
Unexpected Discoveries Camp are one-week camp cycles over an 8-week period where campers are introduced to a broad range of artistic and creative experiences through a camp-wide theme. In this imaginative summer arts program campers will immerse themselves in art, theater, music, and dance while being inspired by this summer’s theme: It’s a Small World After All!
EEA will base each week on a children’s book that deals with the importance of being inclusive and discovering different cultures that make up our world. Music and art projects will be based on the different cultural experiences learned about in stories.
Guardians may choose which weeks you would like your child to be a part of and EEA also offers the choice of Full day or Half day (AM or PM). We will also have morning and afternoon care available for those that need this convenience.
All covid protocols will followed as per state regulations.
Campers must provide their own appropriate face covering and a sealable bag or container to store the covering when not in use.

Studio Drawing & Painting Arts Camp
East End Arts Studio Drawing and Painting Camp, a fun-filled Summer experience for art lovers, ages 9 – 14. During each week of Studio Art Camp, campers work closely with his or her counselor while engaging in fun projects and learning new methods and techniques of drawing and painting. Campers create observational drawings, visual journals, collage works, relief paintings, collaborative works, and more! This concentrated week of art exploration satisfies any art loving camper. Try new methods, new mediums, and express yourself creatively this Summer! All projects are tailored for all skill levels. In this week of 3D exploration, campers work with paper, wood, wire, and clay to create incredible sculptural art. Rock that Band
This week-long Rock that Band Camp offers instrument instruction and an opportunity to play alongside your peers. All instruments are welcome, especially, electric guitar, bass, drums, vocals, and piano. Many genres are explored and campers develop skills in musicianship and have fun composing their own pieces. Practicing and performing together brings campers to the next level. At the end of each camp week, the band performs live! Knowledge of preferred instrument (any instrument) or vocal experience enhances the camp experience. Rock on!

An introductory workshop in the ancient art of encaustic painting. Learn to create your own paint and explore various approaches to working with this unique medium. The instructor demonstrates a step-by-step approach to using encaustic with various collage materials to produce a unique work of art. Students with prior knowledge are welcome.

Following a brief presentation on the history of the medium, participants learn how to work with the basic formula for creating their own encaustic paint. This is a great class for parent/guardian and child to do together!
