Saturday November 8, 2025, at 10 AM. Montauk Point State Park. (3.5+- miles)
Join us for a relaxed-pace hike on an out-and-back portion of Montauk Point State Park. We will be meeting at the EAST Overlook on the south side of Montauk Highway just past Deep Hollow Ranch. BE ADVISED: the first .4-mile is a steep downhill that is narrow and eroded in spots and includes a few steep drops. As this is an out-and-back-hike, you will be finishing the hike on the same trail, this time on a steep uphill. This hike is for people who are comfortable with negotiating tricky areas. The remaining part of the hike is fine. You will get to see and be at Oyster Pond. Be sure to enjoy the spectacular views at the overlook. Distance: +/- 3.5 miles.
Leader: Amy Ruhle, 631-521-3602, amyruhle@optonline.net.

Saturday November 15, 2025, at 10 AM. Alewife Pond and Brook, East Hampton (3+ miles)
Alewife Pond in Cedar Point County Park is a treasure. It’s connected to Northwest Harbor by the meandering Alewive Brook. (Why is one spelled with an f and the other with a v? Nobody knows.) We will walk partway around the pond clockwise and then continue to the harbor on a trail that goes alongside the brook. We will pause at the harbor, then return the same way. The trail is mostly flat, wide and sandy. Lots of delicious water views. Meet at the parking lot just inside the entrance to Cedar Point County Park, 5 Cedar Point Road, East Hampton.
Leader: Peter Coy, 201-790-5725. petercoy@verizon.net
