24th Annual ‘Teeny Awards’ Ceremony

Theater students from 21 East End High Schools were awarded for their performances during the 2025-2026 season in this Tony Awards-inspired tradition.

East End Arts & Humanities Council, Inc. (EEAC) presented the 24th Annual Teeny Awards on Sunday, June 14, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. at Westhampton Beach High School, with a red carpet event from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The 2026 Teeny Awards Ceremony, hosted by the Teeny Awards Student Council (TASC) and produced by Kasia Klimiuk and Anita Boyer, featured performances by students from The Addams Family at Mattituck High School, students from Little Shop of Horrors at Shelter Island High School, students from Footloose at Eastport-South Manor High School, students from Once Upon a Mattress at Ross School, and students from The SpongeBob Musical from Westhampton Beach High School. The TASC helped produce the ceremony as well and comprised over 25 students from various schools that created the opening number and host bits led by Artistic Director Anita Boyer.

The 2026 participating schools include: Comsewogue High School, East Hampton High School, Eastport-South Manor High School, Greenport High School, Hampton Bays High School, Longwood High School, Mattituck High School, Miller Place High School, Mount Sinai High School, Newfield High School, Patchogue-Medford High School, Pierson High School, Riverhead High School, Rocky Point High School, Ross School, Sachem High School North, Shelter Island High School, Southampton High School, Southold High School, Westhampton Beach High School, and William Floyd High School.

The Teeny Awards is a high school theater recognition program founded and run by East End Arts since 2002 to advocate for performing arts. “The Teeny Awards highlight and celebrate the performing arts programs in our schools, which not only teach students how to perform on the stage and manage responsibilities behind the scenes, but also cultivate empowered community leaders, foster creativity, build confidence, and demonstrate the importance of being a part of an ensemble or team,” notes Teeny Awards Coordinator Kasia Klimiuk, now in the seventh year of this role. A committee of volunteer judges attend performances during the fall and spring semesters to determine the nominations and winners.

The 2026 award categories include: Lead Role in a Play; Supporting Role in a Play; The Mary Ann Mortorano Lead Role in a Musical Award; Supporting Role in a Musical; Outstanding Student Choreography; Outstanding Performer in a Play; Outstanding Performer in a Musical; Outstanding Playbill or Poster Design; and Judges’ Choice.
