“It was overall a great experience working on the mural,” said Marina Pica of Comsewogue High School. “Especially how it came together at the end. We all had totally different ideas, but in the end, it came out beautifully.”

ARTISTS SEE THINGS DIFFERENTLY, but arguably no one sees plywood the way artist Ted Thirlby does. He began “rescuing” discarded scraps during his days leading a contracting company and gave them new life as contemplative paintings. As his work evolved, Ted aspired to ink smaller plywoods and run them through a press to create impressions on paper.

These monoprints, full of movement and spirit, gave yet another iteration of life to the would-be flotsam. REGENERATION is the first gallery experience to bring Ted’s paintings and prints together in one musing collection, spread across the two EEA Main St. Galleries.

OPENING RECEPTION: Saturday, March 25 | 4PM-7PM

Sip, mingle, and explore with the artist and friends.
