East End Arts & Humanities Council, Inc. (EEAC) presents its annual celebration of community and creativity with the 29th Annual MOSAIC Festival on June 1st between 12pm and 5pm (Rain Date is June 15th), on E. Main St., Riverhead, between Roanoke and East Avenues, including Town Square and the EEAC campus.
The MOSAIC Festival features chalk art in the street, live music, artisan vendors, food and beverage trucks, a “Kidz Zone,” beer and wine garden, community art projects, and other family-friendly entertainment. The free event is open and accessible to people of all ages and abilities.
Art-making MOSAIC Festival attendees can purchase “squares” to create chalk art pieces on the streets or walls. Chalk art squares can be pre-purchased online or at the time of the event. Chalk is included with square purchases.
Visitors can find the MOSAIC Festival Registration & Information booth under the marquee of The Suffolk Theater, for chalk artist check-in, event maps, and merch. Main Street holds a variety of food trucks and activities from community partners, including an outdoor gallery show by RISE Life Services, Butterfly Effect Project, and Our Famous Variety Show. Media sponsor Beach107 broadcasts live from 12-2pm, and Mugs on Main and A Book Place collaborate on an open mic activity outside the coffee shop. The lawns of Town Square host over thirty artisan vendors, activities by the Long Island Science Center, puppies from The Southampton Animal Foundation, and a beer & wine garden featuring North Fork Brewing Co. and Peconic Bay Vineyards for those over 21.
The Riverhead ROTC Color Guard kicks off the event at noon, as the sponsored chalk artists begin their 8’ x 8’ pieces alongside the 4’ x 6’ street and wall square artists. EEAC youth and adult students entertain with rock and pop all afternoon on the Main Stage, located at the south end of Town Square. Visitors can enjoy perusing a few classics from the NoFo Car Club on their way to the EEAC campus, where the Kidz Zone has several activities for the little ones. Also on campus, artist educator Tonito Valderrama hosts a community nest-building art project and printmaker Andrea Cote hosts a community cyanotype art project. A new Chill Out Room can be found in EEAC’s Carriage House for those who need a short break from the sun, sound, and crowds.
The 2025 MOSAIC Festival is brought to you in part by the support of Legislator Catherine Stark and the Town of Riverhead and is proudly sponsored by Riverhead Building Supply, Richmond Realty, Heatherwood, Long Island Aquarium, Dovedale Sales Corp., and the Riverhead Lions Club.
