News from the FarmMarch

Dear Friend,

March feels like a turning point on the farm — the quiet of winter giving way to the energy of a new season.

We’re excited to welcome you back for programs, events, and opportunities to connect with the people and traditions

that make Hallockville so special….

North Fork Farmers’ Stories (Virtual Option Available)

While our March 28 presentation is sold out, you can still join us via Zoom for an engaging afternoon of stories from the people who have shaped our region’s agricultural landscape.

Featured speakers include the Sidor Family (farming potatoes in Mattituck since 1910 and now known for their locally made chips), the Schmitt Family (170+ years of Long Island farming, operating 175 acres and three farmstands), Joann Zilnicki (a proud third-generation Riverhead farmer), Anthony Scott (honoring his grandfather James R. Wilson, a Black farmer with 62 years in East End agriculture), and Rex and Connie Farr of Farrm Wine, pioneers of organic and biodynamic farming on Long Island.

For more information and to attend via Zoom on March 28 from 3-5 p.m., follow this link: North Fork Farmers’ Stories.
