Rigid Heddle Loom Exploration (Part I & Part II)
September 7th & 14th,
10am – 2pm
PART I: It’s time for you to get acquainted with that loom! Judy Barth, a local weaver, will go over basic set-up, warping your loom and some basic concepts on weaving including choosing the right yarns for the right sett. You will be contacted before the class to make sure you have all the necessary supplies.
PART II: Now that you’ve learned to set-up and properly warp your loom it’s time to weave! Join us for a class that will explore pattern designs, pick-up-sticks and skills to enhance your weaving technique.

Wool Applique
September 12th & 14th

Make this fun Fall wool project with instructor, Connie Klos, fit for framing or a small pillow, while learning hand embroidery stitches. The Outline Stitch, Feather or Fly Stitch, Blanket Stitch and French Knot will be explored, as well as many others, including combining stitches for more detail!

Join local cook and Hallockville Community Gardener, Nancy Beauregard, for a morning in our historic Naugles Barn. Nancy has been featured in Newsday for her delicious Multi-Fruit Walnut Bread, which she will be demonstrating and sharing her recipe. Along with tips and tricks on how to make the bread using fresh, local ingredients, Nancy will discuss the flexibility with baking and how to turn this bread into whatever your heart desires!

Sunflower Table Basket

Join instructor, Barbara Blossey-Chuvalas, in weaving a beautiful basket, with a wooden base, dainty weaves and topped with leather handles. Accented with a sunflower garland, perfect for all your fall decorating needs!

Needle Felting: Pumpkins
October 12th, 10am – 12pm
Join instructor, Vicki Fleming, to learn how to make these simple fall pumpkin decorations out of wool using needles and roving. You will take home your finished product, a kit and extra wool to make additional pumpkins!

Join instructor, Connie Klos, in exploring two easy hand piecing techniques, including the running stitch and English Paper Piecing for accurately and easily creating this quilt block. Pictured is a quilt dating to the mid to late 1800’s, from the Hallockville collection, utilizing this block pattern.
