3-Dimensional Rug Hooking Class with Sarah McNamara

June 4 | 10:00 am – 2:00 pm

Spring is on its way, so it won’t be long before strawberry season arrives! Create a hand-hooked, 3-dimensional strawberry to decorate your home or use as a pincushion. Beginning and experienced rug hookers are welcome. Along with rug hooking, there will be some hand sewing involved.

Rustic elegance returns to the North Fork. Enjoy the timeless tradition of afternoon tea in the historic Naugles Barn at the 28-acre preserved Hallockville Museum Farm. This annual fundraiser will feature an assortment of delicious savory and sweet finger foods, assorted teas, a presentation by herbal educator April Alexander, and raffles!

A Taste of Hallockville – Preservation

June 11 | 10:00 am – 1:00 pm

This workshop on historic food preservation systems will engage participants in a hands-on class to learn the basics of home canning. Community gardener, home cook, and educator Susan Babkes will lead a tour of the Museum Farm’s smokehouse, root cellar, canning equipment, and food storage areas, followed by an exploration of the cultural transition of canning and preserving. The class culminates in an introduction to the basics of home canning during which participants will use local strawberries and rhubarb to create a delicious preserve.

Barn Dance Fundraiser

July 30

Hop into your boots and head over to Hallockville Museum Farm for our Barn Dance Fundraiser! There, you’ll dig into a BBQ dinner by The Catered Fork and locally crafted drinks by Doublespeak Craft Cocktails

before dancing the night away to live music. Famed caller Chart Guthrie will lead the group through traditional country dancing in the Naugles Barn.

41st Annual Country Fair

The Hallockville Country Fair is a North Fork tradition! Come celebrate the rich folk arts and agricultural traditions of the community in a true old-fashioned country fair atmosphere. This is Hallockville’s biggest fundraiser of the year, and it is made possible through the generous support of community partners, volunteers, demonstrators, and visitors from far and wide.
