This exhibit explores the contributions of five generations of the Talmage family, including founding the Suffolk County Farm Bureau, bringing the Cornell Horticultural Research Center to Long Island, and pioneering overhead irrigation and bulk harvesting of potatoes.

Large Twill Carry-All Basket Weaving Class

September 16 | 10:00 am – 3:00 pm

$50 for Hallockville Members

$65 for general public

$48 at-door materials fee

This basket boasts “space-dyed” watercolors, a full base, and leather handles. If you are interested in learning about twill weaving, this basket class is for you! Students will learn how to lash a basket with binder canes. This class will be taught by Barbara Blossey-Chuvalas.
