Hallockville Museum Farm, a 28-acre preserved farm homestead in Riverhead, will host its annual Fleece & Fiber Festival on Saturday, May 17 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Rain date: Sunday, May 18.) Recognized as one of Long Island’s largest celebrations of fiber arts and crafts, this year’s festival promises to deliver an immersive experience in fiber arts with displays and demonstrations of knitting, crocheting, quilting, weaving, spinning, basket weaving and even sheep shearing. New this year will be hands-on workshops in knitting, crocheting and weaving.

“Hallockville is celebrating its 50th anniversary year, so we have added new activities to the festival to make it extra special,” said Hallockville Executive Director Heather Johnson. “The first 100 guests to the festival will receive a free mini project bag, we’ll have live traditional American music, and hands-on workshops for those wishing to learn a new craft or improve their skills.”
