The Immigrant Experience Workshop

April 30 | 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

Local historians and history professors will lead a tour of the historic Cichanowicz and Trubisz houses at Hallockville and present an overview of immigration on Long Island, the Polish arrival in Riverhead, and discuss insights about the 1930 US Census for the area.

Farm to Table Workshop

May 7 | 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

A hands-on, farm-to-table workshop that explores the role of food throughout the centuries on Long Island farms and how those practices are relevant today. The workshop will include tours of Hallockville’s gardens, farm fields, barns, and other buildings; an introduction to its farm animals; and a demonstration of cooking with an authentic wood-burning stove. The workshop will culminate with a hands-on cooking activity.


Spring Bird Walk

May 7 | 9:00 am – 11:00 am

Walk the fields and woods of the Museum farm and State Preserve finding and observing a great variety of migrating birds as they head north to their breeding grounds. Peak migration season is now for thousands of birds and this land on Long Island Sound is a great feeding and resting spot for birds on their long journey. Led by MaryLaura Lamont of Hallock State Park Preserve.


Miniature Punch Needle Class with Sarah McNamara

May 14 | 10:00 am – 2:00 pm

Conjure up some spring with this running rabbit miniature needle punch piece. When completed, it can adorn a basket, box, or be appliquéd to fabric to make a table mat.


Fleece & Fiber Festival

May 21-22 | 10:00 am – 4:00 pm

The Fleece & Fiber Festival kicks off the season with a bountiful array of fiber artisans sharing their quilted, woven, spun, knitted, and crocheted works for sale. It will feature the return of sheep shearing demonstrations and some exceptional four-legged guests! Onsite food truck vendors will round out the attractions.

Summer Farm Camp registration

Hallockville Summer Camp offers a day camp experience unlike anything else on the East End for kids ages 5-12 .

Daily activities at summer camp include: circle time with songs and stories, interactions with farm animals including cows, sheep and chickens, feeding farm animals, and themed projects and activities.
