Auditions for RIPCORD

 Performance dates March 17 – April 3, 2022


Auditions – Sunday, January 16 from 5 to 8 p.m. and Monday, January 17 from 6 to 9 p.m.

at the Quogue Community Hall, 125 Jessup Avenue, Quogue, NY 11959.


Rehearsals will begin on or about February 14. We require all performers to be fully vaccinated. All those auditioning must show proof of vaccination and ID. We are auditioning non AEA performers only. Email info@hamptontheatre.org to schedule your appointment. Auditions will be scheduled in half-hour windows. Masks are required while in the building.

“Ripcord” revolves around the cantankerous Abby who is forced to share her quarters with new-arrival Marilyn. She is determined to get rid of the infuriatingly chipper woman by any means necessary.


Abby Binder: Female, 60-89

She is a blunt, no-nonsense, stern resident at Bristol Place Senior Living; she uses her biting humor to prohibit people from getting close to her; her past has left her with a simmering bitterness; roommates with Marilyn; wants the room to herself.


Marilyn Dunne: Female, 60-89

Abby’s chipper, chatterbox roommate; a warm and pleasant personality who always means the best; her strength lies in her ability to always keep her cool, even in extreme situations.


Scotty: Male, 20-39

A bright, dedicated, and committed resident aide at Bristol Place Senior Living; an aspiring actor; he is trying to do his job to the best of his ability and make Marilyn and Abby get along, but he will not shy away from putting his foot down with Abby when needed. Auditioning all ethnicities for this role.


Benjamin/Lewis/Clown: Male, 30-49

Benjamin: The estranged son of Abby; reclusive and shy; a former addict who has relapsed many times; he is trying to make a better life and comes to make amends with his mother. Lewis: Marilyn’s son, who is also a skydiving instructor; knowledgeable and lively. Clown: An actor in a haunted house who plays an evil clown.


Colleen/Woman in White: Female, 30-49

Colleen: The bright, quirky, and caring daughter of Marilyn and wife of Derek; high-energy like her mother, but with more fierceness; will go to extreme lengths to help her mother win the room and to gain a friend. Woman in White: An actress in a haunted house who is trying to save her baby from the Clown.


Derek/Zombie Butler/Masked Man: Male, 30-49

Derek: Colleen’s other half, literally and figuratively; more realistic and reserved than his wife; always cautious and worried. Zombie Butler: An actor who is leading the haunted house tour. Also plays Masked Man.
