Hampton Theatre Company Awards Scholarships to Students Pursuing Performing Arts

The Hampton Theatre Company has announced the awarding of four scholarships totaling $4,000 to four outstanding students from the surrounding area. The scholarships are given annually to local high school seniors who intend to pursue the performing arts in college.

Scholarship winners this year are: John Ellis, Riverhead High School; Cheyanne Metzger, Riverhead High School; Mia Pazera, Westhampton Beach High School; and Emma Suhr, Southampton High School.

As part of the Hampton Theatre Company’s commitment to supporting theatre arts in the community, the HTC offers Diana & Peter Marbury scholarships annually to graduating seniors from local high schools who have shown outstanding ability and commitment in the performing arts, whether in high school or at the community level, who plan to pursue further education in the performing arts after graduation.

This year’s recipients were selected from a highly competitive pool of applicants.

“We are honored to support these remarkable students on their educational journeys,” said George A. Loizides, scholarship coordinator at Hampton Theatre Company. “Their achievements reflect the values we believe in—commitment, dedication and collaborative spirit—and we are excited to invest in their futures.”

The scholarships were presented either at the students’ school awards ceremonies

or at a recent performance of “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?” in Quogue.

Since the inception of the scholarship program, HTC has awarded over $30,000 in scholarships.
