Friends,
On behalf of the Hampton Theatre Company family – our actors, directors, production staff, volunteers, advertisers and sponsors – I want to thank you for your support in helping make our 40th anniversary season one of the most memorable in recent years. Thanks to everyone who joined us for “Now and Then,” “Boeing Boeing” and “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?” (pictured above), the latter of which completed its run this month to stellar reviews.
As you may have heard, and as a fitting coda to this landmark season, the HTC is staging a gala benefit on Sunday, August 17 at a private home in Quogue, complete with music, hors d’oeuvres, cocktails, and even a short performance by members of our troupe. I think it will be a blast, and certainly hope you’ll consider being part of the festivities. Tickets and info are available by calling 631-653-8955 or by visiting our website.
As we look ahead to the fall and our 41st season, we at the Hampton Theatre Company remain deeply committed to bringing to our community a wide range of socially relevant plays that will entertain and inspire audiences. I’m pleased to announce the 2025-26 lineup:
|
“The Thanksgiving Play” (October 16 – November 2, 2025), a sharp-witted satire from Larissa FastHorse that turns woke school productions on their head. Thanks to a grant from an anonymous donor, this will be the first of three season-opening plays by women playwrights, directed by women, in HTC’s new “Women in Theatre” series.
“I Do! I Do!” (March 12 – March 29, 2026), the award-winning musical comedy from the creators of “The Fantasticks,” about one couple’s ups and downs through 50 memorable years of marriage;
“The 39 Steps” (May 21 – June 7, 2026), a tour-de-farce that mixes the thrills of an iconic Hitchcock murder mystery with the spills of an irreverent Monty Python spoof.

In addition to these three primary productions, we’ll be continuing a holiday tradition with the family-friendly “A Christmas Carol: A Live Radio Play,” a one-hour reading featuring many HTC cast members, which returns by popular demand from December 12-14, 2025.
Tickets to next season’s shows – including attractive discounts for season subscribers – are available now at www.hamptontheatre.org, or by calling the box office at 631-653-8955.
To deliver on our mission to present high-quality productions at modest ticket prices, and to be able to afford the technological upgrades (including body mics for our actors and LED lighting) required to keep pace with other theatre groups on the East End, we depend on our patrons not only to attend our shows, but to provide ongoing financial support. In addition, starting this fall, the HTC will by necessity be building its sets offsite and trucking them to the theater – a steep added cost impacting our overall production budget going forward.
Ticket sales alone cover only 50 percent or less of our costs, so we must rely on the generosity of our Angels at the time of this June appeal and throughout the year to keep our theatre viable and vibrant. Donations may be made securely by clicking on the link below or by sending checks directly to The Hampton Theatre Company. P.O. Box 400, Quogue, NY 11959.
Many thanks from all of us at HTC to you, our patrons, for your role in ensuring a healthy future for our beloved theatre. Here’s to “Celebrating 40 Years” – and to launching a new era of quality theatre in Season 41 and beyond!
All the best,
|
