Hamptons Film: ‘WALL-E’, Wed @ LongHouse, 8.5th | ‘On the End’, August 13th @ Gurney’s Inn

Our 18th annual season of SummerDocs continued on Saturday night with a sold-out screening of THE LION QUEEN, Alden Nusser and Ben Fries’ intimate portrait of Swiss socialite Jocelyn Wildenstein, known by 90s tabloids as “the catwoman,” and the Wildenstein art empire.

The evening began with a picture-perfect reception hosted at The Baker House.  Guests then moved over to the screening at Guild Hall, after which the film’s producer Caroline Baron and co-directors Alden Nusser and Ben Fries joined Alec Baldwin and David Nugent for a lively Q&A.

Based on true events, ON THE END features outstanding performances from Tim Blake Nelson and Mireille Enos as the inspiring working-class couple fighting against the power, greed, and corruption of a changing community, giving hope to take on and endure the fight when there’s everything to lose.
