With the 27th Annual Hamptons Film Festival on the horizon, we’re ready to share our first news about two high-profile awards and the very special artist whose work will grace our annual poster. Read on…
HIFF 2019 will honor legendary director Brian De Palma (SCARFACE, THE UNTOUCHABLES, CARRIE and more) with a Lifetime Achievement Award, and we will present a special screening of one of his many award-winning films.
De Palma will also participate in our A Conversation Withseries with Alec Baldwin.
Created in 2017, the Dick Cavett Artistic Champion Award honors those in the creative arts who excel in their field and support the arts and artists, particularly in media.
The 2019 recipient is HIFF Founding Chair Toni Ross, one of the most prolific artists to leave her indelible mark on the East End. We are proud to honor Toni at HIFF 2019.
A legend of the 20th century abstract expressionism movement and one of the artist pioneers who moved out East to the Springs in East Hampton, Lee Krasner’s work spans over 60 years.
The artwork incorporated into the HIFF 2019 poster will be Krasner’s ‘Vernal Yellow,’ from her Solstice Series (1980, oil, collage on canvas, 150 x 178. Ludwig Collection). The poster will debut later this summer.
