ACCORD, A Cappella Ensemble
Formed in NYC in 2009 by Liz Geisewite and Akiko Fuchisawa, Accord strives to give voice to treble choral music that is lesser known, including new compositions, while championing the treble voice chamber choral sound. In Accord, music is sung with openness and joy, but at a demanding level that challenges the singers to grow musically, aurally, and vocally. Since 2011, Accord has been an Ensemble in Residence at St. Ignatius of Antioch Church in Manhattan. In 2012 and 2020, Accord was selected to perform at the Eastern Division Conferences of the American Choral Directors Association. In honor of their tenth anniversary season, Accord recorded its first professional album, Celestial & Terrestrial, in 2018. Accord is a member of the New York Choral Consortium and Vocal Area Network of NYC.
