The 1731 Jamesport Meeting House will feature Aurelia Mika Chang and Jeremy McCoy in an unusual piano and double bass duo Sunday, May 21 at 4 p.m. The concert will include works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Giovanni Bottesini and Ludwig van Beethoven.

You won’t want to miss this very special musical and community experience. Mika describes the double bass as “the soul and heartbeat of an orchestra.” She believes that the combination of the piano and bass melds their two sounds “to express emotions and colors that evoke human voices – a rhythmic joining of timbres in conversation with the audience.”
A double bass and piano recital is unusual, Mika notes, but is an opportunity to showcase
the repertoire and gorgeous tones of that instrument.
