Creative Community Huddle

Making Data Work for the Arts

Recording and Resources Now Available

Thanks to everyone who joined us for this month’s Creative Community Huddle: Making Data Work for the Arts!

And if you missed it, no worries, we’ve got the full recap, recording, and resources ready for you.

———————–

Quick Recap:

LIAA brought together arts leaders from across Long Island to explore how we can make better use

of the data we’re already collecting—CRMs, surveys, attendance, and more.

———————–

We covered:

  • Real-world examples of data in action
  • Insights from Long Island’s AEP6 impact report
  • Tools from the NEA and Americans for the Arts
  • A collaborative proposal to track ZIP codes + attendance
  • How data fuels storytelling, fundraising, and advocacy

We also officially launched the LI Arts Data Collective—a new regional effort to map arts engagement in real time, one ZIP code at a time.

ANNOUNCING:

THE LI ARTS DATA COLLECTIVE

Born from the July Huddle.

Built for Long Island’s arts future.

We’re thrilled to announce the launch of the LI Arts Data Collective, a new initiative to track arts engagement across Long Island one ZIP code at a time.

————————–

This project emerged directly from our July Huddle conversation and the clear need for shared, simple data that tells the collective story of our region’s cultural impact.

Each month, participating organizations will submit just two data points:

📍 ZIP codes served

👥 Attendance totals

LIAA will aggregate and anonymize the data to create regional snapshots and visual tools that support funding, advocacy, and visibility for the entire sector.

No platforms. No complex systems. Just one spreadsheet, once a month—and a stronger sector because of it. Want to help shape how Long Island’s arts sector is seen, supported, and funded? Get started now!
