New York State COVID-19 Documentation Initiative

The New York State COVID-19 Documentation Initiative is a committee made up of staff members from the State Archives, Library and Museum, as well as the Office of Cultural Education (OCE) Preservation Officer, who will be coordinating the documentation of the state’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Initiative will focus on the following areas in conducting its work:

  • Documenting the COVID-19 pandemic 

  • Support for Cultural Organizations

  • COVID-19 pandemic Information Clearinghouse

The NYSCA/GHHN Conservation Treatment Grant Program is a partnership of the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) and GHHN that provides support for treatment procedures to aid in stabilizing and preserving objects held in collections of museums, historical, and cultural organizations in New York State. The Robert David Lion Gardiner Foundation has provided additional dedicated support for conservation treatment projects in Nassau and Suffolk counties. The work must be performed by, or under direct supervision of, a professional conservator.
