Meet Janet Mavec on December 13

Janet Mavec’s – Bird Haven Farm:The Story of an Original American Garden

We are pleased to welcome jeweler, author and gardener, Janet Mavec to Madoo on Saturday, December 13. (Janet designed our Madoo bird pin!) Bird Haven Farm, Janet’s estate in Northern New Jersey which she shares with her husband Wayne Nordberg is an outstanding contemporary garden. Designed in part with Spain’s leading landscape architect Fernando Caruncho, the working farm features a productive apple orchard, a wildlife-filled pond, a stunning potager and at the center of it all a perfectly circular zen fountain designed by Caruncho.

Mavec’s new book, part memoir, part gardening manual, and part cookbook invites you into her rarefied world of gardens and entertaining with friends and family. Join us for an insightful talk with Madoo Director Alejandro Saralegui in the summer studio about the struggles and triumphs on the farm with Janet followed by treats from Bird Haven Farm and prosecco.

Saturday, December 13th, 3:00 pm. Reception with book signing to follow.
