Monday Mornings at Madoo

On Mondays at 10:00 a.m., bring your little ones for an hour of storytelling in the garden, featuring storytellers from the Hampton Library at the ready to keep your child enthralled with stories from near and far. Pack a picnic lunch and hang out a while. Please contact the Hampton Library at 631-537-0015 to confirm dates and times, or if the weather is questionable. Storytelling will continue through October, and will not take place on Labor Day or Columbus Day.

Madoodles

Our popular art classes for youngsters five to eight years old is led by artist Karyn Mannix with hands-on projects in the garden. This year’s theme is artists of the East End, and each week will feature the style of a different artist—from Lee Krasner to our own Robert Dash. Class will take place on Tuesdays, July 16 to August 27, 2019 from 4:00 – 4:45 p.m. The fee is $25 per class or $150 for series, with discounts for members! Paint Club

Paint Club is back for summer 2019! Ages ten and up will be led by artist Karyn Mannix in techniques from a variety of media, while enjoying the splendor of our summer gardens. This year’s theme is artists of the East End, and each week will feature a different artist of this area, including Miriam Shapiro, Roy Lichtenstein, and Cluck Close. Paint Club meets on Tuesdays from July 16 through August 27 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. The fee is $35 per class, $210 for the series, with discounts for members! Painting Classes with Roisin Bateman

Have the muses of artistic creativity been calling your name? Join us with artist Roisin Bateman for painting workshops in the gardens and historic interiors of the Madoo Conservancy. Geared to beginning students just exploring paints and palettes all the way to advanced painters looking for new inspirations. These classes are offered on Tuesdays in July, from 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon, 7/2, 7/9, 7/16, 7/23, and on Thursdays in August, from 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon, 8/1 8/8, 8/15, /8/22. $200 for 4 sessions or $25 per class.

Much Ado About Madoo

Join us to celebrate our 25th year as a public garden with our 9th Annual Much Ado About Madoo Sunset Cocktail Party on Saturday, June 15, 2019, from 6 to 8 p.m., and our Madoo Market from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Our garden cocktail party will feature a live auction presented by Jamie Niven with extraordinary lots to include works by Robert Dash, Clare Potter, Vladimir, Frances Palmer and, of course, chicken manure for your gardens! Madoo, a History in Photographs: Celebrating 25 Years as a Public Garden

An exhibition of photographs, published book and magazine features, and artwork from the archives of Madoo’s founder Robert Dash, including seven pictures Dash produced directly from his garden. The exhibition is curated by Southampton-based landscape architect Perry Guillot, who lived at Madoo during the summer from 1987-1994. On view by appointment and open to the public during visiting hours, May 11 through August 3.
