RIP CURRENT AWARENESS

Rip currents are powerful, channeled currents of water flowing away from the shore. If you get caught in a rip current, the best way to escape is by swimming parallel to the shore instead of towards it. Only swim at a beach with lifeguards and don’t swim alone. For tips on how to avoid getting caught in a rip current, click here and here.
