Welcome to the February issue of our community newsletter—featuring news of what’s going on around Montauk, to help keep us all informed, connected, and safe. Since this is school recess week, we’ve focused on kids activities in this issue. GUIDED NATURE WALKS
The South Fork Natural History Museum and Nature Center in Bridgehampton has guided outdoor nature walks for kids every day this week. Each walk is led by one of their environmental educators and has a specific theme. Advanced reservations are required for all programs. To view the schedule, click here.

DANCE CLASSES
The Southampton Cultural Center offers a variety of dance programs and workshops for children and teens presented by Adam and Gail Baranello of the A&G Dance Company. Offerings include hip hop, tap, and contemporary dance. Learn more.

CMEE’S PLAYFUL EXPERIENCES
To visit the Children’s Museum of the East End in Bridgehampton, make sure to plan ahead and reserve tickets in advance, here. They also have a variety of fun “CMEE @Home” projects to do with kids on their website, click here.

THE LIBRARY’S PROGRAMS FOR CHILDREN
The Montauk Library has an engaging selection of online programming for children, including Bilingual Story Time, Sharing Music with Miss Lori, and PlayFit with Miss Rachel. All programs (including previous events) can be found on the Children’s Room blog on the Library’s website, click here.

AQUATICS & CULTURAL ARTS
WATERSIDE & WOODS HIKES | Hiking is a fun outdoor activity for kids and we’re lucky that we have so many options in Montauk—including many with great water views. For a good overview of Montauk’s 21 individual trails—including their length and estimated time to complete, click here.

PARRISH ART MUSEUM HOME ART PROJECTS | The Parrish has a wide online offering of interactive guided art activities to do at home with kids. Many are based on exhibitions that have been held at the museum and include video tours and tutorials. To learn more, click here.

EXCITING SKATE PARK NEWS
A new initiative has been launched to update and expand the Montauk Skate Park to help make it more accessible to younger, beginner-level skaters. To learn more, click here.

ACTS OF KINDNESS: GIRL SCOUT COOKIES FOR ESSENTIAL WORKERS
Well, that escalated quickly! Nancy Atlas came up with a plan to support Montauk’s Brownie Troop 825 and Montauk’s essential workers with a social media promoted cookie drive. Within 12 hours, the community purchased 316 boxes of cookies that the girls will distribute this spring. Way to go, Nancy—and Montauk!
