MAY IS LYME AWARENESS MONTH
Now that the warmer weather has arrived, ticks are active again, so it’s important to practice preventive measures outdoors against Lyme and other tick-borne diseases. For helpful tips from Stony Brook Southampton Hospital’s Tick-Born Disease Resource Center, click here.

PERMITS AT THE PLAYHOUSE TOWN CLERK ANNEX
East Hampton’s Town Clerk Annex located in the Playhouse lobby processes beach parking, beach driving, shellfish, recycling, disability parking permits, and more. Hours are: Monday through Friday, from 9:30 am – 3:30 pm. For more information, call (631) 668-5081.

MONTAUK FILM FESTIVAL ACCEPTING ENTRIES
The Montauk Film Festival is now accepting submissions for this summer’s festival, which will run July 22 – 31. The five categories are: Environmental, Social & Cultural, Surf & Turf, and Community. The deadline for entries is June 30th. To learn more, click here.

SUMMER CLASSES AT THE ART BARGE
Registration is now open for summer classes for kids and adults at The Art Barge. Offerings include studio classes and workshops in ceramics, collage, drawing, jewelry, watercolor—and more. For more info, click here.

MONTAUK LIBRARY’S GRAND OPENING
The newly renovated and expanded Montauk Library will hold their official Grand Opening on Sunday, May 22 at 1pm with a community ribbon-cutting ceremony. Stop by to check out the new Local History Center, expanded Children’s Room, scenic views from the new ocean view roof terrace, and much more!

CCOM CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS:
MAY 21 FLOATING WETLANDS INSTALLATION
CCOM is seeking volunteers for Saturday, May 21, from 9am – 1pm, to pitch in and help with the installation of their floating wetlands project in Fort Pond, an innovative water quality remediation initiative. For more info, click here.

HELP OUT MONTAUK’S LITTLE FREE FOOD PANTRY
Volunteers and donations of non-perishable foods (or cash) are needed to keep Montauk’s Little Free Food Pantry (located at the Montauk School) up and running and stocked for those in need. To help, contact Kate Meuth at: npcowgirls@gmail.com

UPDATE: LOCAL COVID TESTING & VACCINATIONS
IN-PERSON TESTING | Testing is available at the Town’s site at 110 Stephen Hand’s Path in Wainscott on Wednesdays and Fridays, from 11am – 5pm. Appointments not required. For a list of all nearby testing locations, click here.
VACCINATIONS & BOOSTERS | Those eligible for a second booster can now obtain one by appointment at Stony Brook Southampton Hospital on Wednesdays from 10am – 4pm (Pfizer only).
