Happy Halloween! Welcome to the latest issue of our community newsletter—featuring news of what’s going on around Montauk to help keep us all informed, connected, and safe.

VETERANS DAY FLAG RAISING CEREMONY
The Foundation’s annual Veterans Day Flag Ceremony will take place Friday, November 11 at 11am at the Suzanne Koch Gosman Flagpole Garden at the Montauk Playhouse. The event will feature the raising of the flag and a wreath laying ceremony by local Boy Scout and Brownie troops, music by Nancy Atlas, and light refreshments following the ceremony. Veterans, as well as the entire community, are invited to attend this ceremony as we honor our heroes.

FREE VACCINATION CLINIC AT THE PLAYHOUSE

A free clinic will be held on Thursday, November 17th at 1pm in the Senior Nutrition Center at the Playhouse for Covid booster, Flu, and Pneumonia vaccinations. Reserve a spot in advance at: 631-668-1023. (Bring your insurance card.)

FREE SCANNING AT THE MONTAUK LIBRARY

On the first Thursday of every month—starting this week on November 3rd—the Montauk Library is offering a free community photo scanning day. Bring your photos in and receive assistance scanning them onto a USB drive. Call 631-668-3377 to reserve a spot.

MONTAUK RECYCLING CENTER S.T.O.P. DAY

The next S.T.O.P. (stop throwing out pollutants) day at the Montauk Recycling Center is Saturday, November 5th. Gather your hazardous household materials (old paints, aerosols, fuels, pesticides, etc.) for safe disposal at the center from 9am – 2pm.

VOTE AT THE PLAYHOUSE ON NOVEMBER 8TH

The Montauk Playhouse Community Center is the polling location for Montauk residents. Vote in-person at the Playhouse on Election Day, Tuesday, November 8th, from 6am – 9pm. (Early voting, ongoing through November 6th, is held at the Windmill Village complex in East Hampton.)

FARMERS MARKET ON THE GREEN

The popular Farmers’ Market on the Green, which is held Fridays from 9am – 2pm, will host their last market of the season on November 18th—so make sure to stop by for local produce and specialties!

GIVING TUESDAY IS NOVEMBER 29TH

Held every year on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, Giving Tuesday is a global day of charitable giving that empowers people to transform their communities. The Playhouse Foundation is a non-profit 501c3 with the goal of raising funds to expand our Community Center with Aquatic and Cultural Arts Centers. Please consider giving back to our community this Giving Tuesday with a gift to the Playhouse Foundation.
