Mashomack is excited to introduce our new Conservation and Stewardship Manager Cody Marie-Miller. Miller has joined us from the TNC Florida Chapter where she worked with the Central Florida team managing over 20,000 acres including two flagship preserves, The Disney Wilderness preserve and Tiger Creek preserve.

I am looking forward to working with preserve staff, Conservancy colleagues and the Shelter Island community to manage and conserve Mashomack Preserve as the Jewel of the Peconic!” — Cody-Marie Miller

 
We also welcomed three more staff members who will be joining us for the summer. Sarah Lewis is our conservation education assistant; Liz Cummings and Jake Bradway are our seasonal conservation stewards. Feel free to say “Hi!” when you see them out on the trails.

Dragonfly Field Day at Mashomack

Join TNC dragonfly expert Kevin Munroe as we explore Mashomack’s freshwater ponds to learn about these beneficial “devil’s darning needles.” We will try to catch and identify (and then release) these colorful, amazing, mosquito eaters. RSVP to MashomackPreserve@tnc.org

Have You Heard the Nesting Bird? by Rita Gray

Come for a self-guided, half-mile walk and read a story as you go. Birds sing songs in the spring as they look for mates.
