On September 10, 2025 — The North Fork Arts Center (NFAC) is expanding its fall programming with two educational opportunities designed to empower and inspire: a free, two-part career workshop for high school seniors and a multi-session creative writing workshop open to writers of all levels and ages.

On October 18 and 25, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, NFAC will host Brand You! Accelerate Your Career Trajectory—a free program designed for high school seniors preparing for life after graduation. Led by NFAC Board Secretary Phyllis Ehrlich, founder of Rocket Your Potential, LLC, and Advisory Board Co-Chair Joel Ehrlich, President of The Harmony Group and professor at the Fashion Institute of Technology, the workshop will give students practical tools to build a personal brand, interview with confidence, strengthen networking skills, and map out future career goals.
With only 20 spots available and registration closing October 1, students are encouraged to register early.

Beginning October 4, NFAC will also present a five-week Creative Writing Workshop with author and educator Mira Johnson. Sessions will take place on Saturdays, October 4 through November 1, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Limited to 12 participants, the workshop invites writers of all backgrounds to experiment with description, imagery, character development, and narrative arc in a supportive environment. The course includes in-class writing prompts, guided discussions, and analysis of published mentor texts, with a focus on revision and growth. Tuition is $200 per person, with full attendance required.

“Supporting our community through education is one of the most meaningful ways NFAC can serve the East End,” said Tony Spiridakis, Executive Director of NFAC. “From preparing high school seniors for their next chapter to creating space for writers of all ages to explore their voice, these programs go beyond skills—they’re about discovery, creativity, and building confidence.”
