Open Auditions for the NFCT Fall Musical:

A Catered Affair

NFCT is devoted to fairness, diversity and involvement. We encourage performers of all races, ethnicities, gender identities, and abilities to attend every audition.

Meet the Director: Bob Kaplan

Bob has been acting and directing at various theater companies around Long Island for the last 45 years. He has enjoyed acting in Peter and the Starcatcher, The Price, Beau Jest, Don’t Dress for Dinner, Laughter on the 23rd Floor, Bonnie and Clyde and The Night of the Iguana. He directed the NY area premiere of Becky’s New Car, as well as directed Sylvia, Sunshine Boys, Glengarry Glen Ross, Mauritius, Young Frankenstein-The Musical, Wait Until Dark, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s, Cry-Baby—The Musical and Born Yesterday. He is encouraged and inspired by Betsy, who supports his passion for being involved in live theater.

Monday, August 14, 7:00pm

Tuesday, August 15, 7:00pm

Callbacks will be held Wednesday, August 16, 7:00pm

All auditions and callbacks will be at the NFCT.

How to Prepare for your audition:

  • Prepare to sing a ballad (bring sheet music, if possible). An accompanist will be provided
  • Prepare to read from the script.
  • Bring a theater resume if you have one.

ABOUT THE SHOW

Synopsis:

A Catered Affair is a musical.

Jane and Ralph decide to marry in a simple City Hall ceremony. But Jane’s mother, bereaved
from her son’s death in the Korean War, envisions a lavish affair and strains family relationships
and finances to plan the wedding she has always wanted.
