What’s My Line! Pencil Drawing

Tuesday, February 3, 12:00pm – 1:00pm (EST)

Following a presentation of Pollock’s early graphite drawings, we will explore basics of observational drawing and modeling with pencil. From cross hatching, blending, and highlighting, this workshop will teach you creative ways that you can use pencil to create light and shade. Supplies; several sheets of paper, pencil, sharpener, eraser. Hosted by Joyce Raimondo, Education Coordinator, Pollock-Krasner House and Study Center.

Charcoal Drawing

Wednesday, February 4, 12:00pm – 1:00pm (EST)

How can you make a vase look three dimensional with shadows and highlights? Learn shading and modeling techniques as you explore the wonders of charcoal drawing.

This workshop will teach you basic charcoal drawing skills and give you an overview

of charcoal supplies. Supplies: vine and compressed charcoal, several sheets of paper, kneaded eraser, blending stump, water, paint brush. If you do not have these supplies, observe. Hosted by Joyce Raimondo, Education Coordinator, Pollock-Krasner House and Study Center.

Wild About Watercolor

Thursday, February 5, 12:00pm – 1:00pm (EST)

Why would an artist sprinkle salt onto a painting or let water drip onto it? In this workshop, we will experiment with a variety of watercolor techniques. Then paint an outdoor scene or abstract art using these techniques. Have on hand watercolor supplies, salt, and oil pastels optional.
