Dear Museum patrons,
Each day at the Parrish Art Museum fills me with excitement and joy as we engage our community in a meaningful dialogue through the arts. Thanks to your generous support we were able to present a rich roster of exhibitions and public programs this year: In Another Justice: US is Them, Hank Willis Thomas and For Freedoms asked what justice can be in a time of imbalance; in Set It Off, Racquel Chevremont and Mickalene Thomas showcased the monumental work of six women artists; An Art of Changes: Jasper Johns Prints, 1960–2018 surveyed six decades of the seminal artist’s printmaking practice, Mel Kendrick: Seeing Things in Things features a wide range of sculptures from the artist’s decades-long career, and a conversation between Thomas and the Herzog & de Meuron architects who designed our 10-year-old building highlighted the cross-pollination between art and architecture.
Next year marks the 125th Anniversary of the Parrish, and in my new role as Deputy Director of Curatorial Affairs, I am particularly thrilled about the artistic dialogue that will be generated by 40 renowned artists with deep roots in the East End as they select artworks from the Parrish collection to be shown alongside their own work. The exhibition, presented in four parts throughout the year, will drive a renewed conversation about the Museum’s past and future, reveal new perspectives of our collection through the lens of a diverse group of artists, and investigate the role of the institution within our community and the artworld at large.
In a continued exploration of the rich artistic legacy of the East End and its global impact, a retrospective of James Brooks in the summer will reveal the prolific career of a painter who zealously embraced experimentation.
By making your year-end gift today, you will secure the future of a vibrant and relevant Parrish Art Museum.

Thank you so much!
