Gets Behind-the-Scenes Look at Art Care

with Crozier Visit in Westhampton

May 28, 2025 – Water Mill, NY — As part of its ongoing commitment to arts education and career development, the Parrish Art Museum’s ARTscope: Teen Council visited Crozier’s Westhampton, New York facility for an exclusive, behind-the-scenes tour of the art storage and logistics hub. The visit offered Teen Council members a unique opportunity to see how professionals handle, protect, and install museum-quality artwork.

Local artist Eric Fischl generously contributed a work from his collection, which Crozier’s expert art handlers used to demonstrate proper unpacking and installation techniques in one of the facility’s private viewing rooms.

“It was fantastic to see the next generation’s enthusiasm for art preservation and a fitting way to begin Crozier’s expanded partnership with the Parrish Art Museum,” said Kevin Thompson, Director of Marketing and Technology at Crozier.

The Parrish and Crozier share a long-standing collaboration spanning two decades, supporting major exhibitions such as KAWS: TIME OFF and the current presentation Sean Scully: The Albee Barn, Montauk. Crozier’s behind-the-scenes expertise continues to be a vital part of the Parrish’s ability to present ambitious and impactful exhibitions.

“Crozier’s art-handling professionals have played an essential role in the Parrish’s exhibitions—providing expert care for artworks that travel from around the world to Water Mill,” said Mónica Ramírez-Montagut, Executive Director of the Parrish Art Museum. “This visit gave our Teen Council members a firsthand look at careers in art logistics—an often unseen but critical field. We hope experiences like this inspire the next generation to protect and steward the cultural treasures that connect communities and support the Museum’s mission.”

ARTscope: Teen Council is a paid opportunity that empowers high school students to explore the arts, learn about careers, build leadership skills, and create programming for their peers at the Parrish Art Museum.
