Please join Trust staff, along with our partners from the Center for Clean Water Technology (CCWT) at Stony Brook University and Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) to learn how you can help lead the charge for a cleaner, safer Sagg Pond!

Dr. Chris Gobler, Director of CCWT at Stony Brook University, and Thomas Varley, the newly hired Watershed Manager for Georgica and Sagg Ponds, will discuss I/A wastewater systems and the public funding available for watershed homeowners replacing outdated septic systems. Molly Graffam, PhD, and Ronald Paulsen, PG, of CCE will provide an update on 2022 water quality data and share upcoming plans for the use of permeable reactive barriers (PRBs) to filter nitrogen from groundwater entering Sagg Pond.

Free Lawn Care Advice Tuesdays

Since 2014, lawn and landscape professional Paul Wagner of Greener Pastures Organicshas provided free lawn care advice weekly to homeowners and professional landscapers at Bridge Gardens.

In 2023, our Lawn Care Advice Day is on Tuesdays, from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm, from May 16th to October 10th. No registration required. And you can always email us with questions, and photos, to LawnExpert@PeconicLandTrust.org.

Transplanting at the Farm

Come join in the fun at this annual workday and help transplant this year’s seedlings from the greenhouse. Work alongside Farm Director Layton Guenther and move tender seedlings into the fertile soils at the farm. Help your children gain new appreciation for tasty fresh vegetables as they dig in the soil and help plant this year’s vegetable and herb crops.
