From damaging insects to plants that compete for resources, our forests are under attack. Hear from scientists and practitioners researching and actively working to manage this challenging issue and find out how you can help. Panelists include Certified Arborist Jackson Dodds, Daniel Gilrein, Entomologist with Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE), Abigail Bezrutczyk , Project and Outreach Coordinator with LI Invasive Species Management Area (LIISMA), Haley Gladitsch, Invasive Species Specialists with LIISMA, and moderator Mina Vescera, Nursery and Landscape Specialist with CCE.

The Trees of Bridge Gardens – A Winter Identification Walk

Most people identify trees based on their leaves or flowers but learning how to identify a tree from its bark, buds, and branches can be fun. And the structure in the dormant months can tell the tree’s story. Join us for an in-person, outdoor walk with local arborist Tom Volk of Summerhill Landscapes to learn about the many different trees growing at this 5-acre garden and the stories they tell.
