Extra hands are needed for the Peconic Land Trusts annual seeding workshop.  Work side by side with Farm Manager Layton Guenther to plant a variety of seeds in the trays destined for the greenhouse, and learn about the importance of making and using compost.  Free!  Rain or shine. The Peconic Land Trust and Summerhill Landscapes have teamed up to offer a workshop on caring for hydrangeas. This overview will de-mystify hydrangea maintenance once and for all.  Learn what time of year to prune, how much to take off, whether and when to deadhead, and how to manage pests and disease to ensure big beautiful blooms every year.

Build a Birdhouse Workshop with Peconic Land Trust

Agricultural Center at Charnews Farm, 3005 Youngs Avenue, Southold

Bring the family to the Peconic Land Trust’s Ag Center for a fun-filled afternoon creating nesting boxes for our feathered friends.  Guided by carpenter Brian Kennedy of Fixhampton, you will assemble a birdhouse from pre-cut materials and learn more about ways to attract songbirds to your backyard.  Materials for this program generously donated by Riverhead Building Supply, Inc.$10/birdhouse, space is limited, reservations required.
