POLLOCK, ALCOHOLISM, and ART
In conversation with Pollock-Krasner House director Helen A. Harrison, Joyce will explore Jackson Pollock’s alcoholism and its impact on his art and life. August 11 is the anniversary of Pollock and passenger Edith Metzger’s deaths in a fatal car accident in 1956, caused by Pollock’s driving while intoxicated. Joyce will follow up with statistics of drunk driving in the USA and what can be done to prevent the tragic loss of life.
