Queens Museum: ‘A Green Carpet For Everyone: Weaving Nets’, 7.12th | On View: ‘Sonia Boyce: Demonstrate’

Join the Queens Museum for the public celebration of A Green Carpet for Everyone, a monumental community artwork by internationally acclaimed Mexican artist Betsabeé Romero. Inspired by soccer, migration, and cultural identity, the installation will be on view at the Queens Museum from July 12 through July 26, 2026. Bring your family and friends for a day of art-making, live music, storytelling, performances, and community. Explore hands-on activities for all ages, connect with local organizations, and help weave new stories, memories, and relationships through this one-of-a-kind celebration. Acompaña al Museo de Queens en la celebración pública de Una Alfombra Verde para Todos, una monumental obra de arte comunitaria creada por la reconocida artista mexicana Betsabeé Romero. Inspirada en el fútbol, la migración y la identidad cultural, la instalación estará en exhibición en el Queens Museum del 12 al 26 de julio de 2026. Ven con tu familia y amistades para disfrutar de un día lleno de creación artística, música en vivo, narración de historias, presentaciones y actividades comunitarias. Explora experiencias participativas para todas las edades, conecta con organizaciones locales y ayuda a tejer nuevas historias, recuerdos y vínculos a través de esta celebración única. Sonia Boyce: Demonstrate is on view now at the Queens Museum! In case you missed it, the exhibition was recently featured in The New York Times, with writer Aruna D’Souza calling the show “something like a love letter to the Queens Museum.” Demonstrate draws on two days of film and photo documentation shot at QM, bringing together local organizations, artists, educators, and the Resistance Revival Chorus to explore how collective voice can open up new possibilities for play and social exchange. Video works, kaleidoscopic wallpaper, and photography come together to create an immersive installation spanning moments of celebration, commemoration, testimony, and ritual. By collaging together a diversity of perspectives, Boyce proposes a closer look at the many ways we can “make our own worlds.”

Sonia Boyce: ¡La exposición Demonstrate ya está abierta al público en el Queens Museum! Por si te la perdiste, la exposición fue presentada recientemente en The New York Times, con la escritora Aruna D’Souza donde llamó la presentación “algo como una carta de amor al Queens Museum”. Demonstrate se basa en dos días de documentación fílmica y fotográfica grabada en el QM, y reúne a organizaciones locales, artistas, educadores y al Resistance Revival Chorus para explorar cómo la voz colectiva puede abrir nuevas posibilidades para el juego y el intercambio social. Las obras de video, el papel tapiz caleidoscópico y la fotografía se unen para crear una instalación inmersiva que abarca momentos de celebración, conmemoración, testimonio y ritual. Al combinar una diversidad de perspectivas, Boyce propone una mirada más cercana a las muchas formas en que podemos “crear nuestros propios mundos”.
