Annual Bird Seed Sale Fundraiser

Start the winter off with plenty of seed and enjoy your winter observing the birds at your feeders! This is a fundraiser for Eastern Long Island Audubon Society and for the Quogue Wildlife Refuge, thanks to the generosity of Talmage Farm Agway. Drive-thru curbside pick-up. If you have already pre-ordered your seed, this is the pick-up date. Bird seed will be available to purchase day of, as well as lovely holiday gifts from QWR & ELIAS. Joining us will also be local woodcarver Matt DiBernardo.

Guided Hike to the Dwarf Pines

Join a QWR Educator for a guided hike to the ecologically rare dwarf pines ecosystem. Round trip hike is approximately 3 miles and is on relatively flat terrain. Learn about native flora, fauna, fire ecology and more on this 3-mile hike is on relatively flat terrain. Please apply any insect repellent prior to arrival $10.00 per person, $5 for QWR 2025 members. Space is limited.

All about Bats! Lecture

Join us for a fascinating evening all about bats! Discover the incredible anatomy and physical adaptations that make bats such important animals to our ecosystem. Learn about the diversity of bats from around the globe — including those right here on Long Island. We’ll also discuss the challenges bats are currently facing and what you can do to help protect them. $10 per person, $5 for QWR 2025 members.

Light the Night Winter Trail Walk & Outdoor Holiday Market

Saturday, November 22^nd, Reservations available between 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM  

Join us for a magical evening walk to celebrate the upcoming winter season! Enjoy a peaceful, self-guided walk through the gently lit forest trails, where twinkling lights and nature’s stillness create a serene winter atmosphere. Shop from local artisans and vendors for holiday gifts while warming up with a complimentary hot cocoa thanks to Hampton Coffee Company (bring your own reusable mug to help us go green). Along the way, discover history demonstrations to learn about the ice harvesting history of the Refuge. A program for adults and families.
