THE SAG HARBOR PARTNERSHIP ANNOUNCES

FORMER STATE ASSEMBLYMAN FRED W. THIELE JR.

WILL JOIN IT’S BOARD IN JANUARY 2026

—————————-

The Sag Harbor Partnership (SHP) is pleased to announce that former New York State Assemblyman Fred W. Thiele Jr. will join its Board beginning January 2026. After nearly three decades of distinguished public service representing the East End, Thiele will bring his deep experience, longstanding commitment to Sag Harbor, and proven record of bipartisan leadership to the Partnership’s work.

“We are honored to welcome Fred to the Sag Harbor Partnership Board,” said Jayne Young and Susan Mead, Co-Presidents of SHP. “For more than a generation, Fred has embodied what public service in Sag Harbor can be—principled, collaborative, and deeply rooted in love for this community. His leadership has shaped the East End in countless ways, from landmark environmental programs to tireless advocacy on behalf of residents. We are grateful that he will bring that same dedication to SHP.”

Fred Thiele states:

“As a life-long resident, I have taken great pride in being a son of Sag Harbor. The community is a special place not just because of its history, scenic beauty, and traditions, but because of the people who care about its past, present and future. Sag Harbor has given me and my family so much through the generations dating back to the 1830’s.

As an elected and appointed official, it was a privilege to give back to the community that I love so that future generations can experience the same spirit of Sag Harbor with which I grew up. During this new chapter of my life after government service, I have found new fulfillment by volunteering with not-for-profit organizations on the East End.

When it comes to protecting Sag Harbor, there is no more committed organization to Sag Harbor’s continued success than the Sag Harbor Partnership. I am honored and grateful to be a member of the Board.”
