Kanela Handmade is owned and operated by Island resident Karen Springer and offers high-quality handmade products of varied artisan techniques from South America, Central America, and USA.
The Mochila bags are handwoven by the indigenous people of Colombia, the Wayuu, and can take up to a month to weave. Selling these bags not only helps with the Wayuu economy, but also preserves and shares their culture.

THE SHELTER ISLAND FOOD PANTRY
WILL BE COLLECTING DONATIONS
AT HAVENS’ MARKET THIS SATURDAY!

The Shelter Island Food Pantry — located off the rear foyer of Fellowship Hall at the Shelter Island Presbyterian Church — offers free food and other essentials to those in need.
The Pantry is open Tuesdays 4 to 6 pm and Fridays from 10am to 1pm.
Donations in the form of non-perishable goods, personal toiletry products, and fiscal contributions are welcome.
