The Shelter Island History Museum’s Summer Children’s Theater Program Is Back This Summer!
Registration for the workshop opens January 12 on the SIHM website.
Space is limited and early registration is encouraged.
———————-
Workshop dates: July 13 to 31
Open to ages 6-12
———————-
We will have a celebratory show on Friday, July 31 for family, friends, and the community!
Now in its fifth year, the program, facilitated by the Brooklyn Acting Lab and made possible by the Elizabeth Pedersen Fund and the Victoria Loconsolo Foundation, Inc., invites young artists to explore theater, history, and community through a joyful, immersive creative process.
The workshop, guided by BAL teaching artists, connects children to the Island’s history, builds friendships, and allows participants to experience the joy of live theater in a meaningful and age-appropriate way.
———————–
The program emphasizes:
- Ensemble-based theater making
- Creative storytelling rooted in local history
- Confidence, collaboration, and imagination
- A supportive, joyful environment for young artists
